2 stories: Serena: father Daniel MacGregor thinks it is time for his daughter to find someone with a strong bloodline and give him grandbabies. Serena works on the ocean liner the Celebration. In addition to dealing blackjack in the casino, she is learning all she can in the running of a casino in hopes of having her own. Daniel suggests [by sending him the tickets] that his friend Justin Blade take a rest, a cruise and while he was at it, bring him back a case of duty free Scotch. Daniel left everything to chance as he knew Justin would visit the casino where Serena worked. Sparks fly and continue to fly as her tour of duty on the Celebration comes to an end and she realizes what her father has done. After she beards the bear in his den she heads to Altantic City to confront Justin about becoming his partner in the Comanche. A situation from Justin's past comes to haunt him and puts Serena's safety in jeopardy. The suspenseful conclusion is worth the read.

Story 2 is Daniel's son Caine and Diana Blade [Justin's sister]. I had trouble liking Diana. I have to remember when someone is, in a sense brainwashed to believe the sky is a different color, it is hard for them to realize the lies they were fed regarding her brother were just that, lies. The struggle goes on and on forever. She has been forced to put away her heritage, her beliefs and her true personality, and to become a creature of her relatives making. It was hard to struggle through that and for her to grow up and not be afraid of her shadow and to thaw out the icy wall of control she lives behind.

Sanctuary The Corrected Text William Faulkner 9780679748144 Books Reviews

I purchased this book ages ago and have read it at least 3 times. Loved the suspense! Was kept guessing until almost the end. The character development is good and believable as all the family members reacted different to the disappearance of the mother based on their ages at the time she left. Highly recommend.
I love the MacGregors series by Nora Roberts and was delighted with the option of buying books that are used and in readable to like new condition. I run through books and audio books like water so it can get pricey! I wasn't look for a collector's edition and used was just perfect for me. The book was in great condition! Now if I could only find the audio books in this series! Check out the offers on used books for great deals!
It was a murder stalker suspenseful read with her usual hot steamy romance.
I love a who done it when I don't want it to be the person the hints lead to, but I can't figure out who else it should be. I could not put it down!
I read The Last Templar before this book. It was better written. This was surprising to me as it was written earlier. One would expect a progression to better writing. This was not the case.

Khoury's story line is interesting and his flashbacks to ancient times are the best part of his books, so far. His writing in this novel is very uneven. At times it borders on amateurish. Some of his word choics simply do not fit, but by far the most annoying aspect of his writing is the super long run on sentences lasting up to thirteen lines long of print. Who edited this book? Wake up editor! One has already forgotten the meaning by the time he gets to the end of the sentence. He buries the point being made at the end, at which time one has to reread the sentence.

Mr. Khoury, please take this as an encouragement to tighten up your writing. You have good stories and meaningful content. The latter does much to redeem your novels.
over this book, start to finish! Seeing the rebuilding of a broken family put themselves back together step by painful step! Lots of sadness tho, but a realistic story. I wasn't sure who the bad guy was till it was exposed! Good mystery shot..yep. A winner here.
Very interesting writing with added sub-plot of second love affair. Great hiding of suspect unto the tie of the major event. Never expected suspect with all the intrigue within the storey
